Southern Alberta Language Assessment Services is a Lethbridge based business that provides English language assessments for immigrants, refugees, private clients and foreign workers. Our business employs five qualified assessors who have assessment experience, English as a Second Language teaching experience, and two of our assessors speak Spanish. If you speak a language other than English or Spanish and require the service of a translator, one will be hired through Lethbridge Family Services.

These assessment services are funded by the Government of Canada through the Department of Citizenship and Immigration and Alberta Employment and Immigration.

Note: As of July, 2010 the  Immigration Canada website - www.cic.gc.ca advises immigrants who are applying for Permanent Residence under the Canadian Experience Class or the Federal Skilled Worker Class that they must take a language proficiency test from a designated testing agency. The accepted assessment is the IELTS available in Southern Alberta from Global Village (403-543-7300) in Calgary.

CLBA or CLBPT are not acceptable assessments for application for Permanent Residence for these two classes (Canadian Experience and Federal Skilled Worker). However, CLBPT results are acceptable for application for permanent residency under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP).
